ENGINEERING A HEALTHIER, HAPPIER, YOU™
Wellness of thought is the first step in achieving positive outcomes. Our results come through an understanding of the triggers and stimuli that affect your life.
Wednesdays 7:30pm-8:30 pm
More than ever in our professional careers, it feels as if educators are carrying the weight of our collective future on our shoulders. In the midst of a pandemic, intense racial and political reckoning, we are all doing our best to manage -- if not thrive -- for our students, their families and each other. We are holding our communities together.
EKOE Health, as an integrative health practice in the DC area, recognizes the deep connection between full wellness of educators and the health of our kids and communities. In alignment with our values of intersectional and collective healing, we are offering a free, weekly, ongoing space specifically for our incredible educators. The offering is responsive to the unique experiences of educators: a place to speak truth, share story, build compassionate community, and nurturing the vision and passion critical for the daily practice of teaching.
As educators and social workers with 30 years of collective experience, facilitators Nicole and Ashley are deeply inspired to provide educators with a space to come together to speak our truths, hold space for each other, engage in collaboration, and restore ourselves so that we can continue the critical work we so deeply love and are endlessly committed to.
To the teachers, school staff, and other adults who provide critical services to our kids - THANK YOU!!!! We know you are doing so much more than teaching, you are often doing it at risk to your own and family's health, with not enough support. You are not just building the plane while flying it - you are an English teacher teaching advanced engineering on the plane you are building while flying and are expected to also provide an exciting in-flight movie you solo perform while also preparing for surgery. Our deepest gratitude.
Free, online, men's gathering in which participants will be guided in mindfulness exercises and provided the space for conscious discussion and connection with other men.
This gathering will be online via zoom the 3rd Tuesday of each month 6:30-7:30pm.
Facilitated by Dr. Anoop Kumar, Dr. Howard Crumpton, and Dr. Michael Baly
